Tasks Service Technicians Perform During a Tune-Up

Whether you have a preventive maintenance ​plan or schedule a seasonal tune-up, the tasks and purpose are the same.

We check the following:

• System controls to verify proper start-up, operation and shutdown
• Refrigerant charge/Pressure/Temperature
• Compressor and fan motor amperage
• Fan blades
• condenser coil for dirt build-up
• capacitors
• Contactors
• Oil leaks
• Vibration or noise
• Brush out/Vacuum electrical compartment.
• Tightening electrical connections
• Schrader caps and valves for leakage.
• Thermostat operation and batteries​
• Inside Air Handler blower amperage​
• Check/evaluate evaporator coil for dirt buildup/Mold.

• Air handler blower wheel for dirt buildup
• Electrical connections and exposed wires
• Wash filter
• Temperature difference between supply and return
• Lubricate all moving parts where applicable
• Flush and vacuum drain line/pan and evaluate drainage
• Overflow switch operation
• Inspect duct work for energy loss
• Disconnect box for proper rating and integrity
• Check final performance and report necessary improvements
• Heater amperage, circuit components, and safeties (Fall-Winter)
• Furnace components, including gas connections and valves, and burner assembly and heat exchanger for correct function (Fall-Winter)
